Puerto Rican genius Daddy Yankee has declared he’s surrendering music to give his life to Jesus.

The star, known for UK outline hits like Despacito and Gasolina, uncovered the news to fans at the last demonstration of his La Última Vuelta (Last Lap) world visit.
“Carrying on with an effective life isn’t equivalent to carrying on with an existence with purpose,” the 46-year-old rapper told the group.
“For quite a while, I attempted to fill a vacancy… that no one could fill,” he added, saying faith had saved him.
“That’s why tonight I am unashamed to tell the world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for Him.”

It’s a sudden change for one of the main voices in reggaeton, the physically charged, road-shrewd style that arose in Panama and Puerto Rico during the 1990s, mixing reggae music with Latin American dance hall music and hip-hop.

Yankee, born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, has been one of the class’ greatest representatives, scoring global hits with exotic, propulsive hits like Barrio Fino, Con Calma, and Rompe.

In the wake of delivering his most memorable performance record in 1995, he turned into the top-rated Latin artist of the 2000s. He teamed up with everybody from Justin Bieber to Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, and the Jonas Brothers.

He declared the choice to bow out in Spring, with the arrival of his most memorable studio collection in 10 years – unassumingly named Legendaddy – and the commitment of his greatest at any point visit.
